Symposium: theory and modelling excited states

Posted on January 28, 2026January 28, 2026 by admin

We are pleased to announce that we are organizing a mini-symposium entitled:
‘Theory and Modelling of Excited-State Properties in Solids and Nanostructures’
at the Condensed Matter Days (JMC) 2026, which will take place in Toulouse from 26 to 30 October.
https://jmc2026.sciencesconf.org

Registration will open in the spring and we hope to see many of you there!

Invited speakers:
Fabienne Michelini (Aix-Marseille University)
Francesco Sottile (Ecole Polytechnique)

Description:
This mini-symposium is devoted to theoretical modelling and numerical simulation of excited states in solids and nanostructures. Particular attention will be given to the development and application of theoretical and computational methods for studying light-induced phenomena, electronic spectroscopy, quantum transport, coupling with phononic modes and magnetic excitations. The session aims to bring together communities working on ab initio approaches and model Hamiltonians, thereby promoting strong links between theoretical advances and material properties.

We look forward to seeing you in Toulouse!
C. Attaccalite (CINaM), P. Romaniello (LPT), E. Cannuccia (PIIM), A. Berger (LCPQ)
